3/16/20 UPDATE: During the next 15 days, all U.S. events of 10+ people should be cancelled or held virtually.
We have been agonizing over the correct procedures to handle the spread of the coronavirus. It has been a hard decision but yesterday’s pleas from the Center of Disease Control concerning mass gatherings has made our funeral home come to the following decision.
After our scheduled services on March 18, 2020, we will be suspending our involvement in public services and public visitation through April 1, 2020, at which time, we will reassess this decision.
We understand that this decision will put a hardship on families we serve, as well as a financial hardship on our funeral home. It is a decision of heart and conscience on what we must do to protect our families and the American public. Personal hardships must not get in the way of doing what is right.
During this time, we will have a private service for immediate family, spouse, children, grandchildren, siblings and the spouses of these categories. It would also include the family’s minister. There will be no charge for the use of our facilities and staff for this service. When we have this serious threat behind us, we will schedule a public memorial service in our chapel or your church, again at no additional charge. If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact our office.
As Americans, we have weathered many storms in our history. We will weather this one, as well.
Our prayers are for all mankind for their safety and health during this pandemic.
