Amalia "Molly" Rider

June 29, 1961 — January 11, 2020

Amalia "Molly" Rider, age 58, of Murfreesboro, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020. She was born on June 29, 1961, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, the daughter of Obie JR Rider and Maria Candelaria Rider. On August 3, 1988, she was married to Christopher JR Rider. She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Chastity Hope Pitchford; and her son-in-law, Ricky Oliver. She was Baptist in her faith, had a deep passion for all animals, loved motorcycle riding and enjoyed needlepoint. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored. Molly will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. She is survived by her husband, Chris Rider of Murfreesboro; three sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Ray and Cristie Pitchford of Glenwood, Obie Rider, Jr. and Kesha Taylor of Glenwood and Shawn and Cheyenne Rider of Nashville; her daughter, Georgeanna Oliver of Newhope; nine grandchildren, Shanikka Pitchford, Cassie Pitchford, Aspen Rider, Bella Oliver, Christian Rider, Chastity Howard, Chloe Rider, Jaylynn Howard and Chevy Rider; her siblings and their spouses, John and Carlene Turner of Montana, Amanda Valadez of Glenwood, Rita and Ray Perez of Missouri, Anthony and Connie Rider and Timothy Rider, all of Newhope and Thomas and Cindy Rider of Texarkana; numerous special nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, January 18, 2020, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Bobby Lock officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the services. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
