Archie Parker

Archie Parker, age 77, of Amity, died Wednesday, May 10, 2017. He was born on February 20, 1940 in Athens, the son of Arthur Parker and Clara Bailey Parker. On March 11, 1967, he married Alline Kizer. He was preceded in death by his parents; two infant sisters; and one sister, Jean Cain. Archie was a retired truck driver. He is survived by his wife, Alline Parker of Amity; four sons, Troyce Parker of Amity, Benny Parker of Norman, Tim Pate of Mountain Pine and James Pate of Amity; one daughter and son-in-law, Shelly and Bryan Edwards of Bonnerdale; twelve grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Christine McCowan of Orlando, Florida and Mary Stevens of Oklahoma. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 14, 2017 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. David Walker officiating. Interment will be in Coker Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Saturday evening. Pallbearers will be Steven Harris, Steve Davis, Wayne Mitchell, David Mitchell, Jarrod Hull and Roy Garrett.
