Barbara Ann Warnick

Barbara Ann Warnick, age 68, of Norman, died Tuesday, May 24, 2011. She was born on April 19, 1943, at Black Springs, the daughter of Jewel Roy Young and Bertha Caldonia Black Young. On April 28, 1963, she was married to Lester "Deazer" Warnick, who preceded her in death on July 14, 1997. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her granddaughter, Renee Venice Warnick; and two sisters, Joleda Warnick and Magdalene Dibblee. She worked for many years at the Montgomery County Nursing Home and was Presbyterian in her faith. She is survived by her three children, Nanette and Richard Shell of Norman, Hector Warnick and Jamie Mullins of Mount Ida; and Renice Wilson of Royal; seven grandchildren, Jonathan Wilson, Chance Wilson, Savanna Wilson, MaKayla Wilson, Tanner Wilson, Kristen Mullins and Breanna Mullins; two brothers, Lonnie and Margaret Young of Black Springs and Ronnie and Edith Young of Mount Ida; three sisters, Dorlas and Ralph Graves of Longview, Washington, Helen and George Robertson of Mount Ida and Sue and Clois Ledbetter of Oden; several nieces and nephews; and many, many friends. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, May 27, 2011, in the Mount Gilead Cemetery, near Black Springs, with Bro. Cub Black officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
