C.L. (Carnish) Pennington, age 93, of Hot Springs, died Sunday, March 11, 2018.
He was born on November 23, 1924 in Pearcy, the son of Marvin Pennington and Ophelia Short Pennington. On June 6, 1945, he married Pauline Vaughn. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edgar Pennington and David Pennington; and seven sisters, Ola Featherson, Ida Short, Stella Long, Julia Short, Velma Conine, Oneida Pennington and Bobbie Tucker.
C.L. attended Malvern First Assembly of God. He worked for many years as a logger, millwright, carpenter, electrician and car salesman.
He is survived by his wife, Pauline Pennington; one son and daughter-in-law, Vic and Reba Pennington; one daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Dale Clem, all of Hot Springs; three grandchildren; Shannon Pennington, Chase and Jenni Clem, Cory Clem (Nikki Skrivanos); two great-grandchildren, Josh Brown and Jake Brown; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, March 15, 2018 in the Mount Tabor Community Church, Glenwood, with Rev. Jimmy Bobo and Rev. Tony Burrow officiating.
Interment will be in Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday evening, at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Shannon Pennington, Chase Clem, Cory Clem, Troy Senn, Josh Brown and Jake Brown.
