Carl York, age 71, of Rosboro, went to be with God on Saturday, June 8, 2019, surrounded by his family. Carl was born on June 9, 1947, in Glenwood, the son of George and Adell Garner York. He married the love of his life, Joyce Copeland, on March 26, 1966. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, George Jr. York. Carl was a wonderful and caring husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend, and deeply loved his family and God. For over thirty years he worked for Missouri Union Pacific Railroad, until he became disabled. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Carl always believed that if you were going to do something, do it right, or dont do it. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-three years, Joyce York of Rosboro; his children and their spouses, Brenda and Robert Cooksey of Amity, Denise and Sean Deputy of Kirby, Lance and Misty York of Glenwood and Travis and Tiffany York of Kirby; twelve grandchildren and their spouses, Krystal and Jesse Cox, Karmen and Ryan Nolen, Dr. Loren Deputy, Zach Deputy, Hannah and Dillon Loy, Matthew Deputy, Jaylin Ramsey, Levi York, Ryan York, Kelton York, Jocee Culpepper and Kason Culpepper; four great-grandchildren, Zoe and Jett Cox, Berkley and Huntley Nolen; his aunt, Immogene Scott; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, June 12, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Sweet Home Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Zach Deputy, Matthew Deputy, Levi York, Dillon Loy, Ryan Nolen and Jesse Cox. Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Doster, Kurt Watkins, Tony Moore and Buddy Buzzard. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Sweet Home Cemetery, 2457 Hwy. 84, Amity, Arkansas, 71921. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
