Obituary

Charles P. “Slim” Wilson, age 73, of Amity, passed away on Thursday, October 4, 2018.

He was born on January 21, 1945, in Hot Springs, the son of Dewey Preston Wilson and Charlene Conine Wilson. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Chantz Wilson; and his parents.

He was a math teacher and coach for Kirby School District; a farmer and businessman, owning and operating over the years, Wilson Dairy Farm, Wilson Dairy Parlor and Wilson Transport. He served as Justice of the Peace of Pike County, was a Mason, Shriner and Jester, all of which he was always so proud to be a part of. He enjoyed shooting pool, going to the horse races, but Slim will be most remembered by his optimistic personality and his constant happy smile.

He is survived by his son, Chuck Wilson and his girlfriend, Angie Bennett, of Amity; his granddaughter, Aspen Wilson of Arkadelphia; his great-granddaughter, Avery Hooks; his sister and brother-in-law, Jeanne and John Taylor of Amity; the mother of his son, June Wilson Harter of Hot Springs; two nieces, Jalyn Hopper and Jacynda Smith; and numerous extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, October 9, 2018, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Keenan Williams officiating.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM, prior to the memorial services at the funeral home.
