Clayton Merritt Davis, age 50, of Royal, died peacefully at his home on Saturday, October 5, 2019.
He was born on December 21, 1968, in Hot Springs, the son of Jerry L. Davis and Brenda Merritt Davis Livingston. He is preceded in death by one younger brother, Clinton Marsh Davis; and his grandparents, Carl and Marie Davis, Gene Merritt and Addie Pearl Mowery Merritt.
Clay was a salesman for several companies in Hot Springs, but his greatest passion was fishing on Lake Hamilton. An avid outdoors man, he loved fishing tournaments and deer season was a close second. Clay was a graduate of Lake Hamilton High School.
He is survived by three sons, Cody L. Davis, Clinton Cole Davis and Carter M. Davis; his mother, Brenda Davis Livingston; his father, Jerry L. Davis; two brothers, Jeb Davis and Andrew Davis (Crystal); the mother of his children, Leslie Davis; a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews; and many friends. Clay will be sorely missed.
A celebration of Clay’s life will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, October 13, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Pastor Brad West officiating.
