Command Sergeant Major Howard Resor

Command Sergeant Major Howard Resor, age 72, of Norman, died Tuesday, February 26, 2013. He was born on July 4, 1940, at Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Carl C. Resor and Hazel Lillian Warner Resor. On May 3, 1960, he married the love of his life, Faye Rasberry. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Bonnie Gribblin. A retired U.S. Army veteran, he was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason; a member of the Black Springs Lodge #543; and was Baptist in his faith. He loved his precious yorkies, especially "Gizmo"; enjoyed fishing and tinkering around his garage, where he built his own race car, #72. Howard deeply loved his family and always cherished spending time with them. He will forever be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his loving wife of fifty-two years, Faye Rasberry Resor of Norman; three sons and daughters-in-law, Carl and Barbara Resor of Norman, James and Shannon Resor of Rogers and Dean and Juliette Resor of Camarillo, California; one daughter and son-in-law, Frankie and Richard Fenner of Norman; twelve grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Virginia and Tom Morris of Mill Creek and Carol and Bob Temey of Millington, Tennessee; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of friends. A visitation celebrating Howard's life will be held Friday, March 1, 2013, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
