Connie Vaught, age 78, of Kirby, passed away on Saturday, May 21, 2016. She was born on February 28, 1938, in St. Louis, Missouri, the only child of Arthur Henry Kissel and Flora Louise Snyder Kissel. She was preceded in death by her parents. Connie was a member of the Community Bible Baptist Church. She graduated from barber school, top in her class, and barbered in Murfreesboro and Glenwood for over fifteen years. She also worked in all areas of logging, eventually doing the bookwork for Britt Logging. Connie loved to play bingo and enjoyed knitting hats which she donated to the Children's Hospital. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Danny and Susan Britt; her grandson, Benjamin Britt, all of Kirby; and her two best friends, Bettie Luttrell and Gail Wood. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, May 25, 2016, in the Community Bible Baptist Church with Bro. Tony Hill officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Lodi Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Danny Britt, Ben Britt, Clift Wood, Ken Harding, Jamie Huey and Tony Parr. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Chambers, Danny Reese, Rickey Vaught and Randy Golden.
