Darrell Babbitt

Darrell Babbitt, age 80, of Langley, passed away on Wednesday, January 27, 2016. He was born on May 6, 1935 at Murfreesboro, the son of Odus Babbitt and Jewel Dickerson Babbitt. On June 19, 1970, he was married to Shirley Lowery Babbitt who preceded him in death on December 7, 2004. A United States Navy veteran, Darrell enjoyed his motorcycle, traveling, fishing and especially spending time with his granddaughters. He is survived by two sons and one daughter-in-law, Eric Babbitt of Hot Springs and Greg and Robyn Babbitt of Rogers; three granddaughters, Anna Babbitt, Ashlyn Babbitt and Kristen Babbitt; and his special friend and companion, Cordelia Smith of Amity. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 31, 2016, in the Langley Hall Church with Bro. Bobby Golden officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Langley Hall Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Tracy Deaton, Denver McRae, Daniel Medrano, Tim Gentry, Eugene Whisenhunt and Junior Tedder. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
