David Earl Jackson, age 61, of Bismarck, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2019, at his home.
He was born on July 6, 1958, to Robert E. and Gennivee Shuffield Jackson. He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Helen Jackson; and his parents.
In 1976, David graduated from Bismarck High School and he retired from the Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department after 34 years of service.
During retirement, he spent most of his time spoiling grandchildren and traveling the country with “A Tribute to Willie Nelson” music show. He served on the Hot Spring County Solid Waste Board and was elected last fall to the Kimzey Regional Water District Board of Directors.
He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, David L. and Laurell Jackson of Hot Springs and Matthew E. and Stephanie Jackson of Morrilton; six grandchildren, Rebecca D., Jaysa Bailey, Addison Faith, Easton Matthew, Emma Ruth and Kylie Ann; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert L. “Bobby” and Lynn Jackson of San Jose, California and Dale W. and Kay Jackson of Little Rock; nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, August 15, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs with Dr. Craig Duncan and Ron McNaughton officiating.
Interment will be in Free Hill Cemetery, Point Cedar.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Wednesday evening.
Pallbearers will be Andy Guffey, James Keene, Kenneth Keene, Ron McNaughton, Brian Weatherford and Blaine Weatherford.
