Donald Louis Evans, age 86, of Hot Springs, went to see his Heavenly Father on January 3, 2018.
He was born on June 18, 1931 in Mishawaka, Indiana, the son of the late Raymond Evans and Hazel Bycott Evans.
He was a member of the Hot Springs Baptist Church and also attended Crossgate Baptist Church, he loved his church family at both. Don was in the US Navy from January 8, 1952-August 12, 1955; Korean conflict. Don loved to dance and in his lessons, he met Polly. Polly and his family were his first loves. He also played on the PGA tour and would play when he could, this being his second love. Don worked at Acme School and Die Engineering from 1966-1972, and then at Smart Document Solutions in Hot Springs from 1995-2005.
Don is survived by his wife, Polly Evans; his daughter, Tammy Briggs; his three grandchildren; two step daughters, Diane Tabler and Anita Work; family caretakers, his niece, Paula Hill and husband, Mike; and his church family and friends.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 9, 2018 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Rev. Mike Smith officiating.
