Donald Ray Smith, age 51, of Amity, passed away on Thursday, October 5, 2017.
He was born on July 29, 1966 in Arkadelphia, the son of Donald Edward Smith and Jannie Lou Hill Smith. He was preceded in death by his mother; his paternal grandparents, David and Ida Smith; and his maternal grandparents, Jimmy and Connie Hill.
He was employed with Great Southern Wood. He was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church and coached softball in the summer. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing and loved spending time with his granddaughters.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Casey and Michael Homan of Amity; three step-daughters, Michelle Wisener, and her husband, Bradley, of Amity, Sarah White and Haley White, both of Richland, Missouri; his granddaughter, Macie Lou Homan; two step-granddaughters, Emma Wisener and Sophia Wisener; his father, Donald E. Smith of Amity; his sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Kevin Tigue of Kirby; and his niece, Katlin Tigue.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 9, 2017, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Ben Derrick and Bro. Glen Harris officiating.
Visitation will be Sunday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.
Interment will be in Hill Cemetery near Alpine.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Wayne Rinkle, Perry Lambert, Johnny Fagan, Thomas Jordan, Ronnie Forrest, Dewayne Wade, Stevie Lambert and Zach Tigue.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tracy Hill and Kevin Tigue.
