Donnie Allan Owens

December 29, 1953 — June 22, 2017

Donnie Allan Owens, age 63, of Glenwood, passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2017. He was born on December 29, 1953, in Blythe, California, the son of Eugene Burl Owens and Patricia Lue Lakin Owens. He was preceded in death by his parents. He was a faithful and dedicated member of the Ark of Praise Church in Hot Spring, where he was active and involved with numerous activities and truly loved his church family. A U.S. Navy veteran, he had an awesome sense of humor, always being able to make everyone smile and laugh, and he will forever be remembered for his love of Tootsie Roll Pops, which he had stashes of wherever he was. Donnie's greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, who he dearly loved and cherished. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him, but his memory will carry on in each of our hearts forever. He is survived by his loving and adoring wife, Mae Owens of Glenwood; his children, Brian Owens and Katie Owens, both of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; five grandchildren; two brothers, Doug Owens of Glenwood and Dennis Owens of Pine Bluff; one sister, Penny Sigfrid of Glenwood; his special "therapy" dog, Gracie Ann; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and a host of wonderful friends. Graveside services, to be held at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, will be announced at a later date and time. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
