Henry Richard Carmack

Henry Richard Carmack, age 70, of Mount Ida, died Wednesday, November 14, 2012. He was born on January 11, 1942, at Oden, the son of Oscar Carmack and Lessie Jackson Carmack. On June 27, 1969, he was married to Linda Vines. He was preceded in death by his parents and four siblings, Monroe Carmack, O. C. Carmack, L. D. Carmack and Jerry Morgan. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam, attended Faith Tabernacle in Mount Ida and always enjoyed working on his old truck. He was a wonderful husband, dad and grandpa and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his wife, Linda Carmack of Mount Ida; two daughters and one son-in-law, Tammy and Eric Elder of Oden and Tisha Carmack Caldwell of Glenwood; three grandchildren, Tyler Caldwell, Hailee Elder and Haizen Elder; one brother, Gary Morgan of Oklahoma; and one sister-in-law, Jo Ellen Carmack of Pencil Bluff. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 16, 2012, at Faith Tabernacle in Mount Ida with Bro. Paul Burke officiating. Visitation will be held Thursday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Gaston Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Joe Carmack, Kevin Carmack, Dickie Fryar, Russell Hearn, Ben Lock and Billy Jones. Honorary pallbearers will Dr. Manjusha Kota and staff, Dr. David Pruitt and staff, nephews, nieces and cousins. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
