JD Woodall, age 80, of Daisy, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2019.
He was born on January 27, 1939, in Amity, the son of Walter Dewitt Woodall and Edith Cox Woodall. On March 19, 1959, he married the love of his life, Carol Tedder. He was preceded in death by his infant son, David Mark Woodall; and his parents.
He was a member of the Daisy Church of Christ. From the age of 18, after he graduated high school, he worked as a Boilermaker until his retirement and was a member of the Boilermakers Union Local 69. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and working in his garden, but his greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. JD will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Carol Woodall of Daisy; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Scott Woodall and Tim and Tracie Woodall, all of Hot Springs; two daughters and one son-in-law, Sonya Woodall of Port Mansfield, Texas and Teresa and Peter Clay of Crozet, Virginia; four grandchildren, Eric Clay, Katie Woodall, Cheyenne Clay and Chloe Woodall; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bobby and LaQuita Woodall of Amity and Garry and Ruth Woodall of Daisy; one sister and brother-in-law, Tana and Don Pitts of Sherwood; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, July 17, 2019, in the Mount Joy Cemetery with Wes Howard officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of Kindred Hospice of Texarkana.
Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
