Jerold Linville, age 79, of Umpire, died Saturday, March 17, 2012. He was born on August 11, 1932 at Nashville, the son of Miley Linville and Della Martin Linville. On January 30, 1960, he was married to Jackie Chambers. He was a U.S. Army veteran and member of the Umpire Community Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially, playing with his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Jackie Linville of Umpire; two children, Jerrie Mitchell (Mickey) of Umpire and Marty Linville (Tracy) of DeQueen; four grandchildren, Marcy Linville, Chase Mitchell, Sydney Gilbert (Shaye) and Dylan Linville; one brother, Archie Linville of Langley; and two sisters, Magie Worley of Dierks and Jeannie Reed of Nashville. Services will be held at 2:30 PM, Wednesday, March 21, 2012 in the Umpire Community Church with Bro. John Henry Williams and Bro. Scott Kitchens officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment with military honors will be in the Athens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Johnny Bolding, Brian Hill, Ron Alexander, Mike McMellon, Jimmy Faulkner and Chad Holcombe. Honorary pallbearers will be Gary Jones, Lamar Martin, Hayes Holcombe and Roy Blue.
