Jerry Lee Hyde

Jerry Lee Hyde, age 72, of Glenwood, passed away on Sunday, February 3, 2019. He was born on January 3, 1947, in Altus, the son of Clarence A. Hyde and Lela Mae Krantz Hyde. He was preceded in death by his parents; his stepmother, Mary Hyde; and his brother, Clarence A. Hyde, Jr. Jerry was a Master Printer Journeyman, traveling extensively to many parts of the country to help other commercial printers with equipment, printing problems or quality control. He was mainly employed with Dial Business Forms in Kansas City, Missouri and with Jet Forms in Colorado Springs, Colorado. He also farmed at Knob Noster, Missouri, where he farmed 1100 acres, mainly consisting of milo, corn and soy beans, and raised hogs for Cargill and Cattle. Jerry and Connie were named the Johnson County, Missouri Farm Family Of The Year in 1977 and he was also named in 1977 as the De Kalb Seeds Farmer Of The Year in Missouri. During the mid-1980s, Jerry and Connie together published the Dierks Banner in Dierks, Arkansas. He is survived by his loving wife, Constance "Connie" L. Mabary Hyde; his daughter and son-in-law, Christina R. and Joshua D. Jones; his son and daughter-in-law, Mike L. and Jana M. Hyde; his grandson, Michael Richard Hyde; two step-granddaughters, Lily Ann Williams and Rose M. Williams Palmer; his sister-in-law, Janet Lile Hyde; one nephew, Jeffrey L. Hyde and his wife, Rebecca Lankford Hyde; and their children, Evan Hyde and Jesse Hyde; numerous extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, February 9, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Glen Harris officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jerrys memory to S.P.O.T.S. Special Pals of the Shelter, P.O. Box 824, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
