Mr. Johnny Floyd Jenkins, age 82, of North Little Rock, died July 5, 2011 at the Brandon Court Nursing home in Brandon, MS. .

Mr. Jenkins was born in Logansville, GA on September 24, 1928 to John Egbert and Blondine Frances Bowen Jenkins. He lived in Atlanta, GA and was in the 1947 class of Tech High where he played first base for the Tech All Stars. He was approached by a semi pro team in Atlanta to sign with them but was signed up in the military instead.

Mr. Jenkins retired from the Colonial Baking Co., where he had worked from 1950 to 1970 in Atlanta, San Antonio, Memphis and Little Rock. After retiring from Colonial he became affiliated with The Minute Man Restaurants in Arkansas and retired in 2000. He was member of the E.A. Minor Masonic Lodge and attended church at the Grace Bible Church in Cabot, AR. He and Ms. Jenkins were 50 year residents of North Little Rock, AR.

Mr. Jenkins was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 55 years Barbara Ann McKinley Jenkins.

Survivors include one sister, Faye (Edwin) Bryan, of Stockbridge, GA; one brother, Jimmy Jenkins of Decatur, GA; brother in law, A.T. "Buck" (Fran) McKinley of Brandon, MS special nephew Tom (Lynn) McKinley of Brandon, MS. and special friends Tim (Paula) Woodridge of North Little Rock, AR and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, July 9, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel, 1921 Main, 758-1170. Burial will at Edgewood Memorial Park, North Little Rock, AR. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday July 8, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. Online obituary and guest registry at www.nlrfh.com.
