Joy Stroope Hill

Joy Stroope Hill, age 82, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, July 12, 2017. She was born on May 26, 1935 in Bonnerdale, the daughter of Alva Fred Stroope and Dessie Edna Milsapp Stroope. She was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Clarence Hill; her parents; one brother, A.D. Stroope; and two sisters, Maxine Keith and Alene Baldwin. Joy was a member of Harveys Chapel Baptist Church. She was very active in the church and was loved by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Sandy Spalding (Tommy) of Hot Springs; her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Sharon Spalding of Hot Springs; two step-daughters, Kay Riley and Paula and Bob McCauley, all of Hot Springs; two grandchildren, Travis and Katie Spalding and Courtney Spalding, all of Hot Springs; five step-grandchildren, Jennifer Cowart, Stephanie Upchurch and Greg Cowart, all of Hot Springs, Nick Riley of Texas and Kim and Derek Stubbs of Louisiana; two great-grandchildren, Brady Spalding and Jacob Spalding, both of Hot Springs; numerous step great-grandchildren; one brother and two sisters-in-law, Dennis and Anna Stroope and Brana Stroope, all of Hot Springs; one brother-in-law, Bill Baldwin of Benton; numerous nieces, nephews; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, July 14, 2017 in the Harveys Chapel Baptist Church with Bro. Buddy Leamons and Bro. Clarence Shell officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday evening. Pallbearers will be Travis Spalding, Greg Cowart, Derek Stubbs, Nick Riley, Darren Stroope and Alton Stroope. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com
