Larry Braden

Larry Braden, age 66, of Hot Springs, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. He was born on June 21, 1951 in Little Rock, the son of Claude Albert Braden and Barbara Jean Curtis Braden. On January 9, 2000, he married Mona Godwin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Larry was a member of Temple of Jesus Name. He worked for 30 years for Ulmer Construction and was a member of the National Guard. He was an advocate for the American Red Cross. He is survived by his wife, Mona Braden of Hot Springs; two sons and daughters-in-law, Nathan Wayne and Mandy Braden of Conway and Robert Clifton and Tami Braden of Perryville; one daughter, Emily Britt Booker of Little Rock; thirteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one brother and sister-in-law, Albert Keith and Deborah Braden of Benton; two step-sons, Damon and Missy Godwin of Hot Springs and Rowdy Godwin of Murphy, Texas; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Monday, August 21, 2017 in the Temple of Jesus Name with Bro. Jerry Stewart and Bro. Donnie Haines officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery, near Buckville under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until service time at the church. Pallbearers will be Reggie Bratton, Alan Braden, Richard Shannon, Stan Townsend, Pete Nix, Tim Bratton, Damon Godwin and Rowdy Godwin. Honorary pallbearers will be Duncan Bratton, the staff of Dierksen Hospice, the staff of Canyon Springs and the members of Temple of Jesus Name. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
