Linda "Toppie" Harvey

Linda "Toppie" Harvey, age 91, of The Dalles, Oregon, formerly of Amity, passed away on Monday, November 26, 2018. She was born on July 22, 1927, at Kirby, the daughter of Jacob Barrett and Viola Garner Barrett. On November 15, 1945, she was married to Carthal Ray Harvey, who preceded her in death on March 16, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Arzell Barrett, Loyal Dee Barrett and Roy Ray Barrett; and four sisters, Lewvenia Stewart, Irene Wilder, Lois Cox and Sue Francis. A Christian in her faith, she and her husband had lived in California and Oregon, but loved Arkansas. Toppie had two green thumbs and could make anything grow. She delighted in her flowers and vegetable garden. She served as her husbands "roadie", helping him with his instruments and driving him to festivals and concerts as he played with the Olde Time Fiddlers Association of Oregon. She was a great cook and adored being outdoors, fishing and camping. But most of all, she enjoyed being in the presence of her family. She is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Gene Anderson of Condon, Oregon; two sons and one daughter-in-law, Jack and Sandy Harvey of Semmes, Alabama and John Harvey of Pendleton, Oregon; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Floy Lay "Bug" and Dora Barrett of Amity; Loy Jay and Patricia Barrett of Daisy; two sisters, Ruby Porter and Fay Norris, both of Amity; and many nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 8, 2018, in the Woodall Valley Cemetery with Bro. Kenny Fant officiating. Visitation will be Friday, 6:00PM until 8:00PM at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Carl Barrett, Jacob Barrett, Roger Prince, Chad Prince, Eric Harvey and Austin Cox.
