Loetta Christenberry

Loeta Christenberry, age 81, of Pencil Bluff, died Saturday, January 1, 2011. She was born on December 10, 1929, at Oden, the daughter of Delbert Ray Fryar and Nora Carmack Fryar. On March 30, 1946 she married J. W. Christenberry who preceded her in death on September 23, 1955. On August 3, 1963 she was married to her second husband, Phillip Clayton Williamson who preceded her in death on April 21, 1976. She was also preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Donald Ray Fryar. Loeta was a member of the Grenade Pentecostal Church. She served as relief postmaster at the Oden post office for many years. She was very talented in music and crafts and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, working in ceramics and building bird houses. She also enjoyed playing the organ and autoharp. She is survived by two sons, Jimmy Ray Christenberry and Ronald Gene Christenberry and his wife, Pam, all of Pencil Bluff; two brothers, Lee Roy Fryar and his wife, Patsy, and Bobby Gene Fryar and his wife, Barbara, all of Pencil Bluff; one sister, Patricia Ann Thacker and her husband, Ray, of Pencil Bluff; four grandchildren, Priscilla Bailey and her husband, Cody, Jesse Christenberry and his wife, Brandi, Christina Manis and her husband, Darel and Jerry Christenberry; three great-grandchildren, Kyle, Rylee and Ethan; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at the Pencil Bluff First Baptist Church with Bro. Charles Ballentine officiating. Interment will be in the Oden Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Visitation will be Monday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Pallbearers will be Lee Roy Fryar, Bob Fryar, Ray Thacker, Reginald Fryar, Jesse Christenberry and Stephen Fryar. Honorary pallbearers will be Bryan Wann and the doctors, nurses and staff of the Montgomery County Nursing Home and Arkansas Hospice.
