Martha Helen Sorrells Davis

July 20, 1942 — June 13, 2019

Martha Helen Sorrells Davis, age 76, of Hot Springs, went to be with her Lord on Thursday, June 13, 2019. Martha was born on July 20, 1942, in Alpine, the daughter of the late Henry Harvey Sorrells and Dixie Ann Rinkle Sorrells. On June 29, 1962 she was married to James Andrew Davis who preceded her in death on July 13, 2015. She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Brady Davis; her three brothers, Oatsie Sorrells, Delmer Sorrells and Charles Sorrells; and her two sisters, Flora Jackson and Dorothy Killingsworth. Martha graduated from Amity High School and was a member of the Second Baptist Church of Amity. She retired after many years from Safeway as a cashier and florist. She enjoyed her flower gardens and reading, as evidenced by her yard and Harlequin Romance novels throughout her home. In her years after retirement, she became very involved with the Women of the Moose. She is survived by her two sons and daughter-in-law, Lee and Susie Davis and Garry Davis, all of Hot Springs; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jenny and Jared Finney, Kayla and Chase Tillery, Andrew and Jill Davis and Corry Davis; eight great-grandchildren, Brayden Sears, Garner Davis, Hunter Tillery, Paislee Finney, Huntlee Tillery, Rylee Davis, Spencer Finney and Hallee Tillery; numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 18, 2019, in the Amity First Baptist Church with Bro. Lee Davis officiating. Visitation will be held Monday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Hot Springs. Interment will be in the Jones Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Chase Tillery, Jared Finney, Corry Davis, Andrew Davis, Darrell Sorrells and Perry Tilley. Honorary pallbearers will be the nurses and staff of CHI St. Vincent, 4 East, Hot Springs; the nurses and staff of Canyon Springs Nursing and Rehab; and the nurses and staff of Arkansas Hospice, Inpatient-5th Floor, CHI St. Vincent, Hot Springs.
