Melba Wright Gunta, age 83, of Glenwood, died Sunday, August 11, 2013. She was born on December 12, 1929 at Amity, the daughter of Fayette Fincher and Alsia Hunter Fincher. On August 17, 1947, she was married to Willard Wright who preceded her in death on November 6, 1996. She was also preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John Fincher; and her sister, Joyce Wilson. On December 8, 2000, she was married to Steve Gunta. She was survived by her husband, Steve Gunta of Glenwood; two daughters and sons-in-law, Lynda and Roger Lewin and Sandy and Curt Hays, all of Hot Springs; three step-children, Louann Gunta, Joe Gunta and Stephanie Hamilton and her husband, Rick, all of Irving, Texas; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Misty and Aaron Burroughs, Merry and Jason Stachey, Chris and Julie Hays, Betsy and Kenny Gardner, Jodi and Felix Gresham, Greg and Tammy Gunta and Nicki and Brad Indicott; fourteen great-grandchildren, Adam, Andrew and Kaitlyn Burroughs, Logan, Chase and Blake Stachey, Paxton and Anna-Kate Gardner, Gus and Eames Gresham, Katelyn, Morgan and Matt Gunta, and Cash Indicott; her brother, Charlie Fincher and his wife, Jacque, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; three sisters, Martha Adams of Amity, Jo Dobson of Little Rock and Trudy Walker and her husband, Loyd, of Little Rock; her sister-in-law, Hildred Fincher of Little Rock; three brothers-in-law, Dr. Ralph Wilson of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, J. D. McGrew of Hot Springs and Joe Wright and his wife, Laquita, of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in the Amity United Methodist Church with Rev. J. B. Evans and Rev. Glen Harris officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Mount Tabor Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be nephews. Memorials may be made to the Amity United Methodist Church, PO Box 142, Amity, Arkansas 71921 or Mount Tabor Cemetery Association, 1501 Dollar Road, Glenwood, Arkansas 71943.
