Nelda "Connie" Colgrove

Nelda "Connie" Colgrove, age 101, of Black Springs, passed away on Monday, November 28, 2016. She was born on May 6, 1915 at Black Springs, the daughter of Harve Boyd Lingerfield and Edith Johnson Lingerfield. On April 16, 1945, she was married to Robert A. Colgrove, Sr., who preceded her in death on March 11, 2007. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and two sisters, Pearl Warren and Jennie Guinn. A registered nurse, her career took her to several different hospitals including the VA Fort Roots Hospital and the Hot Springs Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by three sons, Joe Colgrove of Hot Springs, James Colgrove of Norman and Robert A. Colgrove, Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 3, 2016, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Pastor Ron Ray officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, 1:30 PM until service time, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Scott Cemetery near Black Springs. Pallbearers will be Merwyn Abbott, Joe Clark, Charles White, Matthew Colgrove, Joe Colgrove and Wendell Colgrove. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
