Norm Saffell

Norm Saffell, age 63, of Glenwood, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2015. He was born on September 5, 1951 in Kremmling, Colorado, the son of Robert Saffell and Gertrude Myers Saffell. On September 15, 1978, he was married to Linda Rowland. He was preceded in death by his son, Josh Saffell; his parents; and his sister, Linda Pinkerton. A retired truck driver, he enjoyed writing and sharing stories. He was a member of the Caney Valley Missionary Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Linda Saffell of Glenwood; seven children, Sherry Powell of Cottonwood, Arizona, Melissa Weiss of Spokane, Washington, Regina Markham of Kirby, Penny Smiley of Fayetteville, Jeremy Saffell of Wisconsin, Alicia Saffell of Glenwood and Latricia Lawrence of Caddo Gap; seventeen grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; his brother, Larry Saffell of West Covina, California; two sisters, Rose Hill of Alpine and Bonnie Thomason of Hot Springs; and his nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Wednesday, August 26, 2015, in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Shewbart officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Pike City Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Danny Jackson, Jason Jackson, Ed Lawrence, Jesse Lawrence, Chris Smiley, Aaron Neal, Robert Adams and Randy Jester. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
