Olen E. “Junior” Dalton, age 68, of Hot Springs, died Monday, October 2, 2017.
He was born on July 25, 1949 in Hot Springs, the son of Cecil Edward Dalton and Florence Marie Dailey Dalton. On March 30, 1971, he married Melba Faulkner. He was preceded in death by his parents; and one uncle, Floyd Dailey.
Olen was a member of Centerfork Missionary Baptist Church. He was a United States Army Veteran and served during the Vietnam Conflict. Olen worked for many different banks and the FDIC. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Melba Dalton of Hot Springs; one son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Stacy Dalton of Hot Springs; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Corey Huey of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Abigail Dalton and David Dalton, both of Hot Springs; one sister-in-law, Becky Alexander of San Jose, California; five cousins, Thomas Gerald Leaton of Hot Springs, Carthil Leaton of Texas and Larry Shepherd, Jerry Shepherd and Dale Shepherd, all of Missouri; extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, October 9, 2017 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Bro. Terry Bewley and Bro. James Passman officiating.
Interment will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery with military honors provided by the United States Army and the Thaddeus H. Caraway V.F.W. Post #2278 Honor Guard.
Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until 4:00 PM, Sunday afternoon.
Pallbearers will be Ralph Wacaster, Russ Wacaster, Corey Huey, Todd Sadowski, Greg Dalton, David Dalton, Gene Ennis and Jeff Sheets.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jame Boley, Leroy Ennis, Gerald Savage, Dan Horton, Donnie Qualls, D. L. Massey, the staff of the Hot Springs V.A. Clinic, Thomas Gerald Leaton, Carthil Leaton, Larry Shepherd, Jerry Shepherd, Dale Shepherd and his special care giver, Cory Cox.
