Patsy Ruth Rowland Bragg Bradford

April 14, 1942 — August 18, 2012

Patsy Ruth Rowland Bragg Bradford, age 70, of Norman, lost her battle with cancer on Saturday, August 18, 2012. Patsy was born on April 14, 1942, in Norman, the second child of William Melvin Rowland and Loda Ruth Lindsey Rowland. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Ebern Bragg; and her two stillborn children, a daughter and a son. Patsy was a lifelong resident of the Norman community, where she attended the Norman public schools, from which she graduated in 1960. She married Ebern Bragg soon after becoming age eighteen and they were married for 24 years. Patsy was widowed at the young age of 42. In December, 1999 she married Terry Bradford. Patsy was well known for her excursions into the local forest gathering wood and rocks, which she used to make craft home decor items and she enjoyed going to yard sales. She also was very active in the Norman Historic Preservation Programs, Inc. (NHPP), which is active in restoring the old Norman High School. Patsy is survived by her husband, Terry Bradford of Norman; one son, Dyron Kent Bragg of Black Springs; four granddaughters, Anna Mae Bragg Pennington and her husband, Jeremy, Amy Ruth Bragg, Lindsey Leigh Bragg and Deborah Jalyn Bragg; three great-grandchildren, Isabella Warwick, Jayden Warwick and Lewis Pennington; one brother, W. M. Rowland of Norman; three nieces and their spouses, Sharon and Bob Shewmake of Bella Vista, Darlene and Bradley Atteberry of Littleton, Colorado and Melody and Jeff McKnight of Delight; and a host of other relatives and friends. The family will hold a graveside service at 4:00 PM, Wednesday, August 22, 2012, in the Black Springs Cemetery with Bro. Marvin Black officiating. It was always Patsy's request to have her cremated remains interred near her parents, her infant children and by her first husband, Ebern Bragg, where they had placed a joint headstone. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
