Robert Kenneth Woodbury

August 5, 1931 — July 28, 2017

Robert Kenneth Woodbury disappeared from this earth on July 28. He was born on May 5, 1931 in Oak Park, IL to Kenneth and Bernice Woodbury. He looked forward to seeing his son, Scott Robert, and brother, James Parker who both preceded him in death. Robert left his loving wife of 64 years, Linda Rosemarie Dixon Woodbury. Other survivors include: children - Susan Woodbury, Brian (Liz) Woodbury, Keith Woodbury, and Kim Woodbury (Joe) Invergo; daughter-in-law Laurie Huber Woodbury; sister-in-law Anna Parker; sister Gwen Havelin, brother Bill (Milagros) Woodbury; grandchildren - Jason (Elizabeth) Woodbury, Ryan (Rosie) Woodbury, Ethan Woodbury, Kelsey Woodbury, Alyssa Invergo, Joe Invergo, Dan (Eileen) Stevenson; great grandchildren - Robert, Christopher, Elena, Ava, Ella, Sadie-Grace, Noah - all Woodburys. Family was Roberts legacy and joy. He and his sons were active in the Cub/Boy Scouts. The children loved going with their dad to baseball/basketball games, zoos, antique auto shows, and museums. Robert had a BS degree, Masters Degree in Social Work, Masters Degree in Hospital Administration, and a Doctor in Divinity. A cradle Episcopalian, he studied at the Bishop Anderson House in Chicago, becoming a chaplain. He spent most of his professional life in the service of others: helping children was important to him. A life-long reader, he liked reading mysteries for the Garland Librarys Sleuther Club. While in Hot Springs he attended "Pocket Theater" and "the Muses." A "Celebration of Life" will be held in the Chicagoland area." Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
