Robert Rogers, age 62, of Amity, left this world in peace on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.
He was born on May 2, 1956, in Murfreesboro, the son of Linzy Rogers and Flossie Geneva Sparks Rogers. On July 27, 1985, he married Tammie Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents; his step-father L. B. Hill; two brothers, James “Joe” Rogers and Delmar “Sebo” Rogers; and one sister, Becky Hill.
Robert worked as a log cutter for Tom Sutton for many years. He was a member of the Rock Creek 12,000 Hunting Club and enjoyed deer hunting, riding horses, raising cattle and being with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Tammie Rogers of Amity; three children, Linsey Rogers of Charleston, South Carolina, Megan Davidson and her husband, Brandon, of Amity and Sean Rogers of Amity; two granddaughters, Rylee Rogers and Haylee Rogers; five sisters and their husbands, Janelle and Jerry Fagan of Amity, Donna and Donnie Abbott of Amity, Sue and Terry Black of Norman, Mary and Lloyd Watts of Garvin, Oklahoma and Julie Godbehere of Hot Springs; one brother and his wife, Mike and Debbie Hill of Glenwood; his mother-in-law, Edith Wright of Amity; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, March 18, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tom Sutton and Paul Tigue.
A private family burial will be in Coker Cemetery.
