Roberta Dycus

Roberta Dycus, age 85, of Glenwood, died Saturday, December 24, 2011. She was born on March 17, 1926 at Texarkana, Arkansas, the daughter of Jesse Jackson Ennis and Blossie Mae Henderson Ennis. On February 9, 1943, she was married to Fred H. Dycus who preceded her in death on November 12, 2002. Also preceding her in death were two sons, David Dycus and Robert Dycus; one great-granddaughter, Brittany Cagle; three brothers; one sister; and one daughter-in-law, JoAnn Dycus. Roberta attended the Glenwood Free Will Baptist Church. She was an antique car enthusiast, enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Sharon Dycus and Mike and Mary Dycus, all of Glenwood; fourteen grandchildren; twenty great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, December 28, 2011 in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. J. B. Evans and Bro. Oliver McKamie officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. Interment will be at 3:00 PM, Wednesday, in the Red Lick Cemetery near Texarkana, Texas. Pallbearers will be Lex Ledbetter, Kevin Sexton, David Davis, Matthew Dycus, Michael Paul Cagle and Chet Dycus. Honorary pallbearers will be Brian Dycus, Trevor Skurlock, Justin Sexton and the staff of Glenwood Health and Rehab. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
