Stephen E. Plante, age 77, of Pearcy, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018.
He was born on April 16, 1941 in St. Cloud, Minnesota, the son of the late Archie Plante and Wilhelmina Jasken Plante. On May 4, 1968, he married Doris Gail Stewart.
Stephen was an outdoorsman at heart. He loved to hunt and camp. He was a truck driver for many years. He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by both parents; four brothers, Leroy, Jim, George, and Otto; and one grandchild, Edward Sandoval.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail Plante of Pearcy; one son, Stephen Plante of Pearcy; two daughters and one son-in-law, Gail M. Pacheco of Pearcy and Tammy and Matthew Sandoval of Albuquerque, New Mexico; eleven grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathryn Davis of Aztec, New Mexico and Ramona O’Brien of Strasburg, Colorado, as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and anyone fortunate enough to call him friend.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Hot Springs, with Father George Sanders officiating.
Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery, Royal.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service.
Pallbearers will be: Joseph Pacheco, Stephen Plante, Colton Mickey, Nathan Uptain, and Matthew Sandoval.
