Steve Risner

Steve Risner, age 70, of Amity, passed away on Sunday, December 8, 2019. He was born on July 23, 1949 in Glenwood, the son of Omer D. "Poncho" Risner and Esperence "Epp" Porter Risner. On June 25, 1982, he was married to Treva Mauldin. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Kenny Risner. Steve was a well-known mechanic in the area; he loved cars and loved working on them. In his spare time, he enjoyed turkey and deer hunting and was Southern Baptist in his faith. He is survived by his wife, Treva Risner of Amity; three children, Jan Loyd of Glenwood, Steven "Bud" Risner of Amity and Shanny Risner of Hot Springs; his grandson, Justin Dowdy; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Erman and Sue Mauldin of Amity; and his brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Rita Risner of Glenwood. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, December 12, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. Dale Hamilton and Bro. John McAnally officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, 1:00 PM until service time, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Jones Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dale Hamilton, Matt Ledbetter, Brad Porter, Tim Jester, Gene Porter and Greg Henthorn. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Runyan, Phil Smallwood, Dr. Edward Warren, Dr. Matthew Hulsey, Ellen Moreland and the Amity First Responders.
