William "Eugene" Morris

William "Eugene" Morris, age 69, of Norman, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2019. Eugene was born on February 12, 1950, in Hot Springs. On August 30, 1974, he was married to Clesta Lequita Taylor Morris, who preceded him in death on August 25, 2009. He was also preceded in death by his grandparents, Frank and Mae Gaston; and his half-brother, Michael Mayfield. He was a member of Liberty Baptist Church. He was a Mason with the Black Springs Masonic Lodge #543 and was recently named an honorary member of the Glenwood Masonic Lodge #662. He retired after over forty years of dedicated service with Munro Footwear, Mount Ida; was a cattle rancher and a member of the Arkansas Cattlemans Association. He spent many hours doing volunteer work and always had a heart for serving others. He will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He is survived by his stepson, Rev. Tommy Gerrish and his wife, Brenda, of Paragould, Arkansas; two stepdaughters, Connie Cole, and her husband, Randall, of Bartlett, Tennessee, and Dr. Trisha Gerrish Ray, and her husband, Joe, of Texarkana, Texas; thirteen grandchildren and their spouses, Shane and Tina Cole, Jason and Aleah Cole, Greg and Robin Gerrish, Scott and Amy Gerrish, Lisa Chaffin, Candice and Bert Lowe, Brandon and Mariella Markin, Jeremy and Holly Sutton, Joshua and Sabrina Sutton, Jordan Sutton, Jennifer and Eddie Cokeley, Robyn and Kevin Lawing and Angie and Todd Roberts; thirty-one great-grandchildren, Haley, Holly and Huey Cole, Emily and Lauren Gerrish, Adam, Ryan and Nathan Hartness, Conner, Caleb and Dillon Gerrish, Abigail and Ava Chaffin, Carter and Cate Lowe, Sergio and Dahlia Markin, Mikaila and Sebastian Bolin, Abigail, William, Lily and Bailey Sutton, Maegan McDonald, Emily Wesselhoft, Dylan, Nicole and Rachel Norman, Spencer, Sophie and Landry Lawing; his brother, Edward Morris of Oklahoma; his nephew, Billy Don Morris; his niece, Sandra Griffin; his two special friends, Bob McCord and Billy Wiesner; and a host of other wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 11, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Rev. Jeremy Sutton, Rev. Tommy Gerrish and Rev. Jeremy Graves officiating. Visitation will be held Monday, 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Liberty Cemetery, Norman. Pallbearers will be Jason Cole, Greg Gerrish, Joshua Sutton, Jordan Sutton, Brandon Markin and Shane Cole. Honorary pallbearers will be Scott Gerrish and Jeremy Sutton.
