Wilma Louise Buck

Wilma Louise Buck, 81, of Alpine, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 8, 2020. Wilma was born on January 13, 1939 in Winslow, Arkansas, the daughter of Clyde H. Smith and Thelma Caudle Smith. She was preceded by her parents; two brothers, Jake Smith and Bill Smith; and one sister, Doris Watkins. In 1960, Wilma married Troy W. Buck and they moved to Hope, where she became an Ag teachers wife and raised a family of six daughters. In 1976, she and Troy bought Bucks Country Store in Alpine, where she ran the store and served as the Alpine postmistress for 43 years. Wilma was loved by everyone she met. She loved being with her family, cooking for everyone and spending time reading. She was a member of the Amity United Methodist Church and also attended the Alpine Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of sixty years, Troy W. Buck of Alpine; six daughters and four sons-in-love, Wauleai and Mark Huckabee of Hope, Neeka and Dale Richardson of Alpine, Sandy and Randy Jester of Curtis, Chawna Buck of Springdale, Gay and Thelton Hughes of Houston, Texas and Kay Buck of Alpine; twenty-five grandchildren and great-grandchildren; Kyle Huckabee; Erin and Chance Davlin; Brian, Holly, Mallori and Mason Richardson; Preston, Laiken, Preslee, Paislee, Lillee and Layton Richardson; Jaclyn Farmer, Mike Ramer and Olivia Farmer; Brandon, Mandy, Jaxon and Jordan Jester; and Josh, Heidi, Addilee Ditgen, Maddox and Landree Jester; one sister, Carol Kinion of Greenland, Arkansas; three brothers, Eddie Smith of Greenland, Arkansas, Rob Smith of Little Rock and Joe Smith of Fayetteville; and an infinite number of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors who were family to her. Graveside services will be held at 4:00 PM, Monday, May 11, 2020, in the Alpine Cemetery with Bro. John McAnally and Bro. Glen Harris officiating. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and include Brian, Brandon, Preston, Kyle, Josh, Chance, Mike and Jaxon. Memorials may be made to the Arkansas Future Farmers of America Association, 301 Catherine Park Road, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913, the Alpine Cemetery Association, 117 Alpine Road, Amity, Arkansas 71921 or to the charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
