Yvonne Shipman

Yvonne Shipman, age 73, of Lodi, died Friday, August 17, 2012. She was born on March 22, 1939, at Glenwood, the daughter of Millard Reid and Ova Alford Reid. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her brother, Rudolph Reid. She was a member of the Lodi Free Will Baptist Church, the Church Ladies Auxiliary and the Red Hat Society Club. She is survived by her husband, Harold "Smiley" Shipman of Lodi; two children and their spouses, Tommy and Mershelle Grant and Lisa and Doug Ware, all of Glenwood; two stepchildren, Russell Shipman and his wife, Lisa, of Spiro, Oklahoma and Rhonda Jordan of Stigler, Oklahoma; nine grandchildren, Lindsey Martin, Sydney Grant, Heath Galloway, Hunter Ware, Donna Gurley, Gary Shipman, Lindsey Kenner, Raven Kenner and John Kenner; five great-grandchildren; five brothers, George Reid of Glenwood, Travis Reid of Foresthill, California, Glen Reid of Glenwood, Gene Reid of Kirby and Shelby Reid of Hot Springs; four sisters, Vennis Parker of Lodi, Rachel Moore of Malvern, Martha Westfall and Sheryl Welch, both of Glenwood; and several nieces and nephews; and a host of wonderful friends. Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, August 21, 2012, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel in Glenwood with Bro. Joe Ray Short and Bro. Jack Herring officiating. Visitation will be Monday evening, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Lodi Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Pallbearers will be Heath Galloway, Michael Martin, Hunter Ware, John Wayne Plyler, Dennis Reid, Bobby Grant, Billy Grant and Doug Ware. Honorary pallbearers will be Phyllis Walker, JoAnn Martin, Sunni Tollette, Mary Garner, Charlene Baugher and Ouachita Regional Hospice. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
