Alvin "Lewis" Cleland, Jr.

Alvin “Lewis” Cleland, Jr., age 51, of Pearcy, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021.

He was born on April 23, 1970, in Covington, Louisiana, the son of Alvin Lewis Cleland, Sr. and Barbara Ballard Cleland. On July 7, 1990, he married the love of his life, Donna Spellman.

Lewis was a Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Royal. He was a United States Air Force Veteran. He worked as an aircraft mechanic, was an avid outdoorsman and a talented wood worker. He was the expression of “saving the wood from the fire!” Lewis was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather, and friend to all and will be greatly missed. He wasn’t known as “Grandpa” but will be fondly remembered as “Papa Lew”.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Donna Cleland of Pearcy; his parents, Alvin Lewis Cleland, Sr. and Barbara Cleland of Coleman, Texas; his son and daughter-in-law, Briar and Caybrin Cleland of Hot Springs; two daughters and sons-in-law, Jessica and Michael Bowers of Coleman, Texas and Jodi and Chris Becker of Pearcy; three grandchildren, Joey Becker, Nathaniel Becker and Nicholas Becker; his brother and sister-in-law, Joshua and Kadi Cleland of Coleman, Texas; his sister and brother-in-law, Nivla and Kenny Moore of Coleman, Texas; several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services 11:00AM, Tuesday, July 27, 2021, with Bro. George Lynch officiating, in the First Baptist Church of Royal.

Interment will be 11:00AM, Wednesday, July 28, 2021, in the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Cris Becker, Michael Bowers, Briar Cleland and William White.
