Anna B. Burton

Anna B. Burton, age 85, of Point Cedar, passed away on Saturday, June 6, 2020. She was born on February 18, 1935 in Amity, the daughter of David Mansel Shirley and Addie Isabell Wanzer Shirley. On October 24, 1951, she was married to Neal E. Burton who preceded her in death on August 31, 2019. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Rickey Burton and Phillip Burton; her parents; and six brothers. She was a member of the Philippi Church of Christ. Anna was very active in her church and taught childrens Sunday school class for many years. For 17 years, she worked at National Rejectors in Hot Springs as a tester for coin changing machines. She and her husband, Neal, enjoyed camping, fishing and floating the river. On their anniversary every year, they would always take a trip to Eureka Springs to celebrate. She loved her family and being with her children and grandchildren. She is survived by two daughters, Rhonda (Jim) Jackson of Bismarck and Phyllis (Steve) Nunn of Arkadelphia; her son, Darie (Becky) Burton of Pearcy; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; her brother, Donald Shirley; two sisters, Maudie Outlaw and Linda Francis, all of Amity; and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 9, 2020, in the Philippi Cemetery with Luke Henson officiating. A viewing will be held Monday, 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM, at Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. The directives for events will be in place including social distancing, all attendees 10 years old and over must wear a face covering and, for the viewing, there can be no more than 50 persons in the chapel at any one time.
