Annie Lee Pettiejohn

Annie Lee Pettiejohn, age 83, of Glenwood, died Wednesday, May 1, 2013. She was born on January 5, 1930, in Alabama, the daughter of Marion O'Neal and Gertrude Grimes O'Neal. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dalton Pettiejohn; her granddaughter, Lori Pettiejohn; and six siblings. Ann was a well-known cook in this area and worked for the Lux Caf and the City Caf. She operated the Lux Motel at one time and had worked in home care. Always a hard worker, she would travel to the west coast to pick fruit in her younger years. She is survived by two sons, Billy Sanderson of Moulton, Alabama and Clinton Pettiejohn of Glenwood; three granddaughters, Donna Mathis, Meleia Heflin and Crystal Sanderson; four great-grandchildren, Amber Mathis, Rayley Mathis, Christian Sanderson and Richard Mathis; and her brother, Johnnie Summers of Florence, Alabama. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, May 5, 2013, in the Mount Tabor Cemetery with Bro. Sammy Cottrell officiating. Visitation will be held Saturday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Guest registry is at www.davis-smith.com.
