Bernardo Matías Hernández, de 60 años, de Glenwood, falleció el martes 5 de Octubre de 2021.

Nació el 20 de agosto de 1961 en México, hijo de Efen Matias y Antonia Hernández. Fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres, y un hermano, Domingo Matías.

Bernardo era miembro de la Iglesia de Dios Palabra Y Unión, amaba leer su Biblia y mantenía una fuerte vida de oración. Era avicultor y disfrutaba trabajando en su jardín.

Le sobreviven su esposa, María Victoria Castillo Hernández; dos hijas, María Victoria Matías Castillo y Griaelda Noriega, todas de Glenwood; dos nietos, Abraham Noriega y Jeremías Noriega; y cinco hermanos, Hilaria Matias, Narciso Matias, Leodegaria Matias, Lucio Matias y Evodio Matias.

Los servicios se llevarán a cabo a las 11:00 AM, el sábado 9 de octubre de 2021, en la Primera Iglesia del Nazareno de Glenwood con el hermano Miguel Hernández oficiando.

Se llevará a cabo un velatorio en la iglesia que comenzará a las 7:30 PM, el viernes 8 de octubre de 2021, y terminará a la hora del servicio.

El entierro será en el cementerio de Glenwood bajo la dirección de Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.

Bernardo Matias Hernandez, age 60, of Glenwood, passed away on Tuesday, October 5, 2021.

He was born on August 20, 1961, in Mexico, the son of Efen Matias and Antonia Hernandez. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Domingo Matias.

Bernardo was a member of the Palabra Y Uncion Church of God, loved reading his Bible and maintained a strong prayer life. He was a poultry farmer and enjoyed working in his garden.

He is survived by his wife, Maria Victoria Castillo Hernandez; two daughters, Maria Victoria Matias Castillo and Griaelda Noriega, all of Glenwood; two grandsons, Abraham Noriega and Jeremiah Noriega; and five siblings, Hilaria Matias, Narciso Matias, Leodegaria Matias, Lucio Matias and Evodio Matias.

Services will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2021, in the Glenwood First Church of the Nazarene with Brother Miguel Hernandez officiating.

A wake will be held at the church beginning at 7:30 PM, Friday, October 8, 2021, and ending at service time.

Interment will be in the Glenwood Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
