Bernet Farmer

Bernet Farmer, age 82, of Pearcy, passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020.

He was born on August 26, 1937, in Big Creek, Newton County, Arkansas, the son of Ross Farmer and Mildred Hudson Farmer. He was preceded in death by his children, James Farmer and Jeri Farmer; his grandchildren, Gary Wayne Hamner, Korey Ruis and Brianna Cox; his parents; and his siblings, Betty, Sandy, Gary, Rosalyn and Ronnie.

He worked for many years as a logger, running a skidder, and enjoyed going fishing and hunting in his spare time. He raised pigs, rabbits, and will be most remembered for his goats, that he was always so proud of. Bernet never met a stranger and enjoyed visiting with his family and friends, and was a wonderful father, grandfather and great-grandfather, who loved his family dearly, especially his grandchildren, whom he adored.

He is survived by his seven children and their spouses, Venita and Danny Collins of Valley Springs, Jennitta Farmer of Western Grove, Carol and L. D. Cogburn of Norman, Sheila and Greg Hamner of Caddo Gap, Chris Farmer of Norman, Kent and Hannah Farmer of Norman and Amy Farmer of Kansas City, Missouri; twenty-four grandchildren, Shane, Contessa, John, Jr., Vanessa, Alysia, Justin, Casey, Brandon, Tara, Michael, John, Molly, Sheena, Jenna, McKenzie, Katelyn, Chris, Jr., Stephen, Ellen, Hannah, Desiree, James Cole, Cotton and Fielo Ren; thirty-seven great-grandchildren, Paige, Grayden, Ivy, Mahala, Chloe, Claire, Colton, Creasie, Peyton, Dannin, Dallas, Haley, Gloria, Jared, Blake, Gabriel, Ariel, Jadan, Kadance, Maelynn, Zachary, Jude, Josh, Oliver, Penelope, Keigan, Elayna, Dominic, Sebastian, Araiyah, Eric III, Liam, Wyatt, Jasper, Jasmine, Izzy and one on the way; one great-great-grandchild, Dylan; his siblings, Anna, Sharon, Georgie, Jeanette and Glen Dale; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday, August 24, 2020, in the Mount Gilead Cemetery with Bro. Greg Hamner officiating.

Visitation will be held Monday, 2:00 PM until 2:30 PM, at the cemetery, prior to the services.

Pallbearers will be Amy Farmer, Justin Hamner, Casey Hamner, Brandon Hamner, Michael Hamner and Johnathan Libby.

Honorary pallbearers will be James Cole Farmer, Shane Collins, John Collins, Jr., Chris Farmer, Jr., Stephen Farmer, and the nurses, staff and Chaplain of Arkansas Hospice 5th Floor Inpatient Center, CHI St. Vincent, Hot Springs.
