Betty Lou Godwin

Betty Lou Godwin, age 78, of Story, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2019. She was born on April 30, 1941 near Harrison, the daughter of Roscoe Farmer and Mildred Hudson Farmer. On December 4, 1955, she was married to Paul Godwin who preceded her in death on November 13, 2016. She was a member of the Union Hill Church in Story and a talented artist who enjoyed painting. She also enjoyed her flower and vegetable garden, caring for animals and watching the squirrels play in her yard. She loved her family and being with her grandchildren. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny Paul and Susan Godwin of Sims and Randy Rodney and Darlene Godwin of Hot Springs Village; four daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and David Rowland of Sims, Lisa and James Bryant of Pencil Bluff, Sherre and John Tedford of Story and Tina and Danny Breshears of Hot Springs; eleven grandchildren, Vickie Rice, April Godwin, Erica Godwin, Rodney Godwin, Dwayne Rowland, James Cogburn, Jesse Cogburn, Ashley Scott, Steven Tedford, Kassady Bass and Curtis Bass; fifteen great-grandchildren, Autumn, Cody, Madisson, Payton, Hope, Hannah, Jarrod, Blake, Jed, Benjamin, Alivia, Emeire, Ava, Eian, Eli, and one great-grandchild on the way, Dallas; two brothers, Burnett Farmer of Hot Springs and Dale Cogburn of Greenwood; three sisters, Anna Nichols of Florida, Sharon Brown of Sims and Georgia Wright of Greenwood; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 22, 2019, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood. Visitation will be held Saturday, 1:00 PM until service time. Interment will be in Reed Cemetery at Story. Pallbearers will be Jesse Cogburn, James Cogburn, Steven Tedford, Curtis Bass, Danny Breshears and James Bryant.
