Betty Oliver

Betty Oliver, age 79, of Little Rock, formerly of Glenwood, passed away on Thursday, January 28, 2021.

She was born on August 2, 1941, in Glenwood, the daughter of Ottis Jester and Etolie Pennington Jester. On December 23, 1963, she was married to Arlos Oliver who preceded her in death on September 24, 2012. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Carrol Oliver.

Betty received her BSE and MSE from Henderson State University and taught most of her career in school districts in central Arkansas. Betty and Arlos were charter members of Grace Baptist Church in Glenwood. After her move to Little Rock, she moved her membership to the First Baptist Church of Little Rock and always enjoyed her studies with Bible Study Fellowship.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jonathan and Hollie Oliver of Little Rock; her grandchildren, Rebekah Grace Oliver and Jonathan David Oliver, both of Little Rock; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jimmy and Vickie Jester of Turlock, California and Johnny and Jackie Jester of Glenwood; and her nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday, February 1, 2021, in the Glenwood Cemetery with Bro. James Owens officiating.

Visitation will be Monday, 1:30 PM until 2:30 PM, at the funeral home.

Social distancing directives will be in place with 66% capacity in chapel and face covering must be worn at all times.

Pallbearers will be JD Oliver, Mike Pierce Sr., Mike Pierce Jr., Jimmy Jester, Johnny Jester, Denny Jester, Ron Galloway, Billy West, Dicky West and Frank Davis.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Little Rock, 62 Pleasant Valley Dr., Little Rock, AR 72212 or to Bible Study Fellowship International at bsfinternational.org.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood.
