Billie Jo Smith

Billie Jo Smith, age 88, of Langley, passed away on Monday, May 17, 2021.

She was born on April 25, 1933 in Athens, the daughter of Jewell W. Hunter and Pearl Golden Hunter. On October 20, 1953, she was married to Earl O. Smith. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her granddaughter, Bambi Jester.

She was a member of the Langley United Methodist Church and served as church treasurer for many years. She enjoyed reading her Bible, caring for her animals and tending to her flowers.

She is survived by her husband, Earl Smith of Langley; her daughter, Tracy Smith of Langley; her grandchildren and their spouses, Machelle and Fred Palmer, Adam and Susan Jester and Jordan Jester and Jennifer Hawkins; her great-grandchildren, Meredith Ellis, Nicholas Ellis, Austin Ellis, Emma Jester, Riley Hawkins, Lucas Hawkins-Jester and Bambi Hawkins-Jester; her brother, Jewell Lee Hunter of Langley; her sister, Vernell White of Langley; and her nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, May 20, 2021, in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood, with Bro. George “Boots” Donaldson officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday, 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Athens Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James Golden, Dana White, Austin Ellis, Nicholas Ellis, Adam Jester and Jordan Jester.
