Billy Joe "Daddy Bill" Willis

Billy Joe Willis “Daddy Bill”, age 92, of Hot Springs, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 17, 2020.

He was born on October 11, 1928, in Hot Springs, the son of George Willis and Willie Bettis Willis. On April 2, 1955 he married Melba Faye Pearson, who preceded him in death on July 15, 2015. He was also preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Earline Short and Betty Walker.

Billy was a member of the Oaklawn Baptist Church where he taught Sunday School and was a deacon from 2002 to the present. He was active in the Bus Ministry and was a Youth Group sponsor. Billy worked for ARKLA Gas until retiring in 1981 and was a member of the Lions Club for many years. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Bill Green of Hot Springs; his granddaughter, Kelly Green of Hot Springs; his grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Kyle and Britlyn Green of Point Pleasant, West Virginia; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members; and a host of wonderful friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 12:00 PM in the Oaklawn Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Hill officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 11:00 AM until 12:00 PM.

Social distancing directives will be in place with no more than 66% of the total seating capacity occupied at the church, avoidance of physical contact and all attendees 10 years of age or older must be wearing a face covering at all times during the service.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Green, Bill Green, Chock Hopson, Gary Montgomery, Eddie Walker and Larry Loe.

Honorary are pallbearers are Oaklawn Baptist Church Men’s Sunday School Class and National Park Medical Center ER and ICU doctors, nurses and staff.

Arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.
