Billy Ray Fincher

Billy Ray Fincher, age 84, of Hot Springs, passed away on Monday, January 3, 2022.

He was born on March 6, 1937, in Hot Springs, the son of Luther Fincher and Bessie Kizziar Fincher. He is preceded in death by his first wife, Donna Fincher; his parents; one son, Larry Fincher; and one sister, Geneva McGuire.

Bill was a Christian and of the Pentecostal faith. He attended Lake Hamilton High School and worked for Alcoa until retirement. He was a member of the Pearcy/Trumann Hunting Club and the Nail Benders for Jesus in the years of 1990 - 2000. Bill was an avid hunter, fisherman, softball player & loved going to auctions, camping and eating chocolate ice cream. Some of his best qualities were that he was a strong hugger and he could tell some of the best campfire stories. Bill loved going to “cousin’s day” at World Buffet. His family meant the world to him and he will be greatly missed by all that knew and loved him.

He is survived by his wife, Naomi Cannady Fincher; three sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Betty Fincher of Greenwood, Ronny and Donna Fincher of Hot Springs and Danny and Holly Fincher of Hot Springs; one daughter-in-law, Rhonda Fincher of Hot Springs; ten grandchildren, Amber, Kristy, Ashley, Nic, Trey, Brittany, Shawn, Lydia, Chris and R.J.; sixteen great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Haley, Drake, Kelbi, Emma, Sarah, Laney, Ava, Knox, Bailey, Ethan, Warner, Kysen, Hatti, Klara and Layne; one sister, Dell Lucas of Hot Springs; his extended family Kallie, Debbie, Cindy and Elvin; several nieces, nephews and a host of wonderful friends.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 6, 2022, with Bro. Wilbert Bates and Bro. David Carpenter officiating in the Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Hot Springs.

Interment will be in the Oma Cemetery.

Visitation will be 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM, prior to the service.

Pallbearers are Shawn Fincher, Chris Fincher, Trey Fincher, Nic Fincher, Dewayne Slate, Kevin Mahan, Tim Shelton, Jimmy White and R.J. Fincher

Honorary pallbearers are Pete Carpenter, Diersken Hospice, his lap buddy, Shorty, and the members of the 1st Pentecostal Church.
