Brenda Almand Miller

Brenda Almand Miller, age 64, of Caddo Gap, Arkansas, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021.

She was born on May 22, 1957, in Waxahachie, Texas, the daughter of Thomas Fortson Almand and Gaylia Almand Coley. She was preceded in death by her father; her brother, Ricky Almand; and her stepfather, Calvin Coley. On June 23, 2012, she was married to her love, Richard Miller.

She was a member of the Glenwood Church of Christ, where she loved her church family. She enjoyed kayaking, going on long hikes, and spending time outdoors. Brenda had a strong passion for animals and was a dedicated helper at S.P.O.T.S. animal shelter in Glenwood, where she worked many tireless hours helping take care of all the dogs and assisting with many fund raisers to benefit the shelter.

Brenda was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends, whom she dearly loved with all her heart. She will always be remembered for her beautiful smile and will truly be missed by all who knew and loved her.

She is survived by her loving husband, Richard “Rick” Miller of Caddo Gap; her son and daughter-in-law, Russ and Laura Stephens of Kerrville, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Sara and Shane Carr of League City, Texas; her two grandchildren, Ethan Carr and Evangeline Carr; her mother, Gaylia Coley of Texarkana, Texas; her two stepsons, Dustin Miller of Hermiston, Oregon and Ron Jensen and his wife, Traci, of Three Forks, Montana; her stepdaughter, Cindy Stock of Willow Creek, Montana; her brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Bennie Almand of Powderly, Texas; her step-sister, Tandi Karr and her husband, Burgess of Hooks, Texas; and several nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.

A Celebration of Brenda’s life will be held by the family at 11:00 AM, Saturday, October 9, 2021, in the Glenwood Church of Christ with Jon Hall officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Brenda’s memory to S.P.O.T.S. Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 824, Glenwood, Arkansas, 71943.

Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home and Crematory, Glenwood.
