Bro. Paul Burke

Bro. Paul Burke, age 76, of Mount Ida, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016, at his home. He was born on April 20, 1939 in Exeter, California, the son of Frank Burke and Mary Pierson Burke. On June 27, 1964, he was married to Shirel Mayberry. Bro. Paul served as pastor of Faith Tabernacle for over 30 years. He was a United States Air Force veteran, enjoyed traveling and loved playing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed watching sports, especially baseball. He is survived by his wife, Shirel Burke of Mount Ida; three children and their spouses, Audrey and David Spurling of Pencil Bluff, Galen Burke of Mount Ida and Marla and Stacy Sigman of Mount Ida; eight grandchildren, Shawn Spurling, Anthony Spurling, Makenzie Spurling, Hannah Burke, Kendra Burke, Julie Burke, Kyleigh Sigman and Connor Sigman; his brother, Charles Burke of Azalea, Oregon; and two sisters, Vernadine Johnston of Tulare, California and Ann Hale of Visalia, California. Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, April 10, 2016, in the Faith Tabernacle with Bro. Don Vaughn, Bro. Jerry Fagan and Bro. Jack Greenlee officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, 1:00 PM until service time, at the church. Interment will be in Blish Cemetery under the direction of Davis-Smith Funeral Home, Glenwood. Military honors will be conducted by the United States Air Force. Pallbearers will be Kevin Wilson, Delton Hughes, Mark Plyler, David James, Jorgen Horrisberger and Roger Harbour.
